In a significant and forward-looking development, the Atlantic Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists has commenced a new initiative designed to strengthen its connection with students attending Seventh-day Adventist institutions of higher education across North America. This initiative represents a tangible expression of the Union’s commitment to nurturing its students spiritually, academically, and relationally.
In furtherance of this vision, the Atlantic Union Conference has embarked on a coordinated effort to visit Adventist University students, providing opportunities to meet, encourage, and support students who hail from its six constituent conferences: the Bermuda Conference, Greater New York Conference, New York Conference, Northeastern Conference, Northern New England Conference, and Southern New England Conference. As part of this initiative, students receive monetary gifts, symbolizing both encouragement and the Union’s investment in their educational journey.
On Sunday, April 26, Dr. Abraham J. Jules, President of the Atlantic Union Conference, visited Oakwood University to engage directly with Atlantic Union students enrolled at the institution. The gathering was marked by a strong sense of fellowship and enthusiasm, as numerous students assembled to meet and interact with their Union President. The atmosphere was one of joy and anticipation, reflecting the meaningful connection being cultivated between leadership and students.
During the event, students were provided with refreshments and a monetary gift of $150. More importantly, the occasion served as a platform for encouragement and spiritual affirmation. In his remarks, Dr. Jules urged students to remain steadfast in their commitment to Christ while pursuing excellence in their academic endeavors. He emphasized the importance of integrating faith with learning and reminded them that their present efforts are foundational to their future service and leadership within the Church and society.
Dr. Jules further affirmed that this initiative will become an annual endeavor, underscoring the Union’s long-term commitment to student engagement and support. Looking ahead to the Fall 2026/2027 semester, the Atlantic Union Conference is scheduled to visit Southern Adventist University and Andrews University.
God’s continued blessings upon all students — tomorrow’s leaders.
