On November 19, the Atlantic Union Conference Executive Committee elected Thomas “Tom” Murray as the next treasurer of the Atlantic Union Conference. He will begin serving Jan. 1, 2026. Prior to this vote, Murray served the Southern New England Conference (SNEC) for many years as stewardship and trust services director and SNEC association secretary before being elected in January 2019 as treasurer/CFO.

Abraham J. Jules, Atlantic Union Conference president, affirmed the committee’s decision. “Tom Murray brings a wealth of experience and a heart deeply committed to the mission of the Atlantic Union Conference,” he said. “His proven leadership and dedication to responsible stewardship will be a blessing to our union as he steps into this role.”

During the same meeting, the Executive Committee elected Enmanuel Contreras to serve the Atlantic Union Conference as vice president for Youth and Young Adult Ministries, beginning Jan. 1, 2026. Previously, Contreras served as Youth and Young Adult Ministries director for the Greater New York Conference. His election fills the position previously held by David McKenzie, who continued in the dual role after being elected as executive secretary of the Atlantic Union Conference in July 2025.

Expressing support for this appointment, Jules added, “Pastor Contreras is a dynamic and passionate leader whose ministry consistently uplifts, equips, and inspires young people. I am grateful for his willingness to serve and look forward to the impact he will have on the youth across our union.”

Please join the Atlantic Union Conference administration, directors, and staff in prayerful support of these newly elected servant leaders as they begin this next chapter of ministry within the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
