Northeastern Conference Postpones Constituency Session

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been evaluating the feasibility of proceeding with our regularly scheduled constituency session scheduled for September 27, 2020. We recently received word from civic officials in Duchess County that gatherings of more than 50 people are prohibited at Camp Victory Lake for the remainder of this year. After giving due consideration to this impediment and additional challenging factors, the Northeastern Conference Executive Committee has voted the following actions:

1. To postpone the fifth quadrennial session and 28th regular session of the Northeastern Conference until September 26, 2021.

2. That incumbent staff be asked to continue in uninterrupted service up to the rescheduled session.

3. To recommend that the constituency grant the incoming administration a full four-year term by resetting the sixth Quadrennial Session to the year 2025.

4. To recommend amending the bylaws to grant the executive committee express power to postpone a session for up to one year where extraordinary conditions exist to make it imperative to postpone the calling of said session.

We thank you for your patience and understanding. We pray for your continued divine protection and guidance as our churches, schools, and offices initiate gradual reopening.
