Mount Moriah Recognizes Local Firefighters

  • March 2024

Members of the Mount Moriah church in Ridgewood, New York, follow Jesus’ example by connecting with their local community. Under the ministry concepts of “Reaching the Unreached” and “We Are All Neighbors,” they endeavor to make a difference in people’s lives and show appreciation to others who serve their neighborhood.

In November 2023, the church hosted a Community Fellowship Day with special guests from the New York Fire Department’s Ridgewood Fire Station. The members recognized Battalion Chief Gregg Maji, Fire Chief Sandra Sanchez, Ladder 135, and Engine 286 representatives for their years of dedicated service to the community.

Dedrick Blue, Northeastern Conference ministerial director, was the guest speaker for the day, and a choir from the Linden school provided special music. People from the community, members of neighboring churches, and other invited guests attended the special service. On a biweekly basis, the church also provides food to the community through its “Bread Basket” ministry.
