Jesus Christ’s method, as outlined, offers a holistic approach that goes beyond mere interaction. It is about genuine care, empathy, and comprehensively addressing people’s needs. This principle underscores the necessity of being active within our communities. We must step out of our comfort zones and immerse ourselves in the daily lives of those we seek to serve. Being present demonstrates our genuine interest and commitment to their well-being.
- Showing sympathy is the bedrock of Christ’s method. Matthew 14:14 recorded that when Jesus saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them and healed the sick. Jesus’ ministry was characterized by acts of healing, feeding the hungry, and comforting the distressed. As James 2:15, 16 (ESV) admonishes, “If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?”
