The Atlantic Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists extends congratulations to Dr. David McKenzie on his election as Executive Secretary of the Atlantic Union Conference, effective July 1, 2025.
On June 17, the Atlantic Union Conference Executive Committee voted to elect Dr. McKenzie as Executive Secretary, succeeding Pastor Ted Huskins, who recently accepted a call to serve in the Lake Union Conference.
Dr. McKenzie brings with him a remarkable record of service and leadership within the Seventh-day Adventist Church. With over 25 years in pastoral ministry, he has faithfully served in the Guyana Conference and the Northeastern Conference, shepherding congregations and empowering leaders across diverse communities.
He holds the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Theology, Master of Arts in Counseling, Master of Divinity (eq.), Doctor of Ministry in Leadership, and a Ph.D. in Education Administration and Management.
He brings a wealth of leadership experience, having served with distinction in several key leadership roles, including Youth Ministries Director for the Northeastern Conference, Youth Ministries Director for the Atlantic Union Conference, Vice President for Youth and Young Adult Ministries, and Assistant to the President for Mission and Evangelism—all within the Atlantic Union Conference.
Dr. McKenzie is married to Dr. Bernice Quashie-McKenzie, and together they are the proud parents of two children, Nathanael and Nyah.
In this new role, Dr. McKenzie will also continue to serve as Assistant to the President for Mission and Evangelism, and temporarily continue as Vice President for Youth and Young Adult Ministries until a successor is elected.
We invite the entire Atlantic Union family to join us in prayerful support for Dr. McKenzie as he embraces this new chapter of service to the Church and the mission of Christ.
