Solid Rock Reaches Community with Health Expo

Members of the Solid Rock church conducted a Family Wellness Health Expo on June 9 to help residents of the Far Rockaway community to learn how to live a healthier lifestyle while addressing any health concerns they may have.

In addition to the Solid Rock church members, Pathfinders, and Adventurers, other participants at the health expo included representatives from Health First Insurance, United Health Care, and the Addabbo Health Clinic. Each entity came ready to serve the community. Those who stopped by the health expo, held at the Cardozo Playground in Arverne, New York, were able to get screened for various health issues. In addition, a prayer tent was set up for those from the community who wanted prayer.

Present at the health expo was Lisa M. George, the constituent liaison and manager for New York State Senator James Sanders. She thanked the members of Solid Rock church for taking the initiative to hold the health expo in their community. George indicated to the Solid Rock church members that she is willing to help the church with future events they may bring to the community.

The Solid Rock Health Ministries department is about assisting the church members, as well as the surrounding community with living healthier, happier lives as they share the good news of Jesus’ soon return.
