Boston Korean Church Raises Funds to Help Earthquake Victims in Turkey

The Boston Korean church accepted the call of the Southern New England Conference (SNEC) to help the victims and families of the earthquake in Turkey. Accepting Jesus’ mission to help others, Mintae Kim, the church’s pastor, and his church members organized a Korean food festival in the parking lot of the church on April 2, 2023, to raise money for earthquake victims.

Church members volunteered their time and talents to work together to make the event successful. From buying and preparing ingredients, promoting the event in their community, schools, churches, and the Southern New England Conference, to preparing all the food and setting up the tables, everyone played a part in this event.

Volunteers shared food samples that motivated people to buy food to eat on site or take home. Church members raised $7,100 to send to ADRA to help the families in Turkey. The church is grateful for the community’s support and the support of SNEC representatives Frankie Vazquez, Adventist Community Services director, and Shawn Santana, communication director.

The Boston Korean church, as the hands and feet of Jesus, accepts the call to help others in their neighborhoods and also in other countries.
