Atlantic Union Adventist Youth Ministries (AUAYM) directed its focus on reaching individuals and families living in our communities through the 2022 “Mission and Evangelism @ Home” initiative.
During the week of April 8 to 15, the Atlantic Union Conference Adventist Youth Ministries kicked off the initiative with the evangelistic series “Explore the Sanctuary.” The local conference Youth Ministries directors and associate directors took turns delivering the Word of God nightly with passion and power. The speakers included, in order of presentation, Teddy Williamson, Southern New England Conference associate director; Paula Olivier, Northeastern Conference director; Daniel Velez, Southern New England Conference director; Trevor Schlisner, Northern New England Conference director; Angel Reyes, Greater New York Conference assistant director; Dan Whitlow, New York Conference director; David McKenzie, Atlantic Union Conference director; and David Steede II, Bermuda Conference director.
Following the week of evangelism, more than 750 missionary volunteers participated at various project sites across the Atlantic Union on April 16 and 17. The service projects brought hundreds of volunteers out to show love and compassion in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, and the islands of Bermuda.
“God continues to open our eyes to the needs of our neighbors, and we pray that this lifestyle of service will thrive right in our proverbial backyards,” wrote David McKenzie, AUAYM director, in a message thanking everyone for their participation.
In addition to supporting local service projects, Atlantic Union youth and young adults also continue to support overseas service initiatives by participating in mission trips.
