Atlantic Union Educators Prepare for the Future

The Atlantic Union Conference Office of Education Curriculum Committee (AUCOECC) met in Lancaster, Massachusetts, February 3-5, to collaborate, plan, learn, and prepare for the 2020-2021 school year. More than 30 representatives from each of the six conferences in the Atlantic Union came for the meetings.

Based on the theme, “In Times Like These, You Need an Adventist School,” AUCOECC members first established a spiritual foundation for their meeting with a study and discussion on Daniel 9:20-23, followed by an intense prayer session.

Guest presenters included representatives from the North American Division (NAD) and Loma Linda University, as well as curriculum and educational test developers. Attendees received vital information to take back to the principals and teachers in their districts on topics such as new textbook guidelines, standardized testing, teaching methods to enhance learning and retention, as well as new educational initiatives being introduced by the Atlantic Union Conference and the NAD.
