More than 300 young adults from across the Atlantic Union Conference attended the GODencounters spiritual retreat at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Leominster, Massachusetts, February 14-16. Since its inception in 2001, this year’s GODencounters saw the largest attendance in its 19-year history.

Manny Cruz, Youth Ministries director for the Arizona Conference, was the keynote speaker for Sabbath. Special guest speakers also included James Black, North American Division Prayer Ministries director; and Bob Cundiff, Northern New England Conference president. Youth directors representing each of the six conferences—Bermuda, Greater New York, New York, Northeastern, Northern New England, and Southern New England—participated throughout the weekend and were recognized for their support and dedication to Youth Ministries in the Atlantic Union territory.

Four breakout sessions were available on Sabbath, covering “Depression, Anxiety, and Suicide” with Seanna-Kaye Denham Wilks, a clinical psychologist; “Love, Money, and Ambition” with Omri Mota, a director of environmental health and safety; “Sharing My Faith in a Secular Culture” with Duddley Francois, pastor of My Generation Church; and “Women in Ministry II” with David Dennis, president of Southern New England Conference.
