New York Conference Holds First-ever, Online Camp Meeting

  • August 2020

  • New York Conference

New York Conference celebrated its first-ever online camp meeting, held because of the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Ty Gibson, Light Bearers co-director and pastor of the Storyline Seventh-day Adventist Church in Eugene, Oregon, was the guest speaker for the evening meetings and the Sabbath-morning meeting. From June 18-20, hundreds of people connected daily to view the services that were streamed live simultaneously through New York Conference’s official Facebook and YouTube accounts.
Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20, featured evening youth meetings with Andrés Peralta, General Conference associate youth director for Pathfinders, as they were streamed through Instagram. Rich Aguilera, One Mustard Seed director, conducted a program for children via Facebook.

Miguel Crespo, New York Conference president, and Claudio Gomez, New York Conference executive secretary, hosted the event. The theme for camp meeting was “Lift Up Your Trumpet: Jesus Is Coming Again,” and geared toward inspiring those watching to be ready for Christ’s second coming.
