“You2 Challenge” Is the New Youth Evangelistic Movement in New York Conference

New York Conference’s youth have been invited to “join the movement” by participating in a new initiative called the “You2 Challenge.” In it, elementary-, middle-, and high school-age students, who are willing to help spread the gospel, are invited to use their social media platforms or Internet knowledge to create a new evangelistic campaign targeting children and teenagers who are not Adventists.

A video, an app, or even a vlog, makes the cut for this challenge. Using the hashtag: #you2challengenyconf or sending their proposal to president@nyconf.org, children between the ages of 6 and 12, as well as teens between the ages of 13 and 18, may send their proposals to compete in two different categories according to their age group. The conference will choose three finalists in each category to ultimately utilize one of the campaigns as the conference’s youth evangelism approach throughout its territory.

Since the conference has a vision of reaching the youth, conference administrators Miguel Crespo, president, and Claudio Gomez, executive secretary, launched the initiative in January 2020 with the intention of using new ways to involve the church’s young members in witnessing. Participants will have to submit a video explaining what they’ll use to reach out to their friends on social media and how would it work. There are three monetary prizes for each group, depending on the results of a showdown in the month of May at Union Springs Academy.
